How do I tell my dog no without my new puppy getting scared?

I have a 2 year old boxer and just got a 3 and a half month old pitbull puppy a week ago. Last night my boxer got really excited and jumped up at me and hit me in the face and broke my gles. I was pretty mad, so I told him NO very firmly and made him lay down. He normally doesnt jump, but I have other friends with gles and cant have him doing that. Anyway, the puppy saw it happen and ran behind a chair to hide. Now it seems like the puppy is scared of me and the boxer! He wont play or anything with us.. Next time I wont say No as loud, but what else can I do if my boxer is misbehaving and I have to tell him to stop?
