Questions about infertility?

I had my 1st consultation with an infertility specialist today. She says that I have PCOS and elevated insulin and glucose levels for trying to conceive. My regular Dr. said my glucose and insulin levels were fine, but at any case the specialist suggested Glucophage. I am 5'2 148lbs she says she would like to see me at 125-130lbs. When I looked up glucophage itsuggested that its for someone with type 2 diabetes. She also told me that even after I conceive I will have to continue to take it. I don't have diabetes so my question is has anyone else been told to take this for weight loss purposes to try and conceive? What were the results after taking it and how long did you take it? What were the side effects while taking it and was it difficult coming off of it?
