Is this legal? Can I fight this? Slumlord for a dad...?

Okay so since October I have been living in a trailor were it was aranged that I pay two hundred dollars a month my boyfriend pays two hundred and the other people in the house pay four hundred a month because they have their own rooms. That was suppost to cover all the bill as well. We have had a hard time paying him because we have not had jobs, but I paid him one hundred for the month of October and plan to pay him seventy five on the twentith my boyfriend paid him two hundred in October. We planed to pay him two hundred out of each check after that untill we are caught up. Then today he sends us a text message saying all utilities have tobe in our nameby the twenty second of november or they will be shut off. After that my boyfriend talks to him because it is his dad we are renting from and he says that it will be our responsability to pay all the utilities and we will only have to pay him eight hundred dollars a month for insurance and other bills that can't be put in our name. When my boyfriend talked to him he asked him about a lease and he said that if we paid all of our bill and were working on paying the stuff we owe him then he would give us one in two months. He also refusis to write out a contract saying that if we pay all of our bills and are working on paying him back what we owe him then he would put us on a lease in two months. He is supost to be back from Calli on Dec 10th and I'm worried that he will kick us out even if the bills are in our names and even if we have paid him someone who knows about this stuff please help can he just kick us out like that? I have the whole phone conversation recorded Can I use it aginest him in court if it goes that far? Doesn't he have to give me a thirty day notice? Please no BS only real answers from people that are really trying to help...... Sorry about the spelling spell chek isn't working...
