How long is the world going to stand for N. Korea's threats?

N. Korea said today if the UN brings sanctions against them, what they claim is a peaceful use of nuclear energy, will turn deadly with a nuclear bomb, and retaliate against anyone who isolates them. How long is the world going to put up with these nuts ?
