How can I reason with my boyfriend when his anger always takes over?

Sounds like going to his hometown seeing his friends and possibly abusive parents triggered some bad memory's that he had hidden deep in his mind. I would wait another week or week and a half then either dump him or bring him to a psychiatrist.
