All the places you researched are pretty pricy. Go online to the San Francisco Chronicle ot the ads and see if any of these places have something to rent in your range. The cheapest town would be like Vallejo, but does not have a bart, just a ferry. South San Francisco may be an option for you also, or San Bruno too.
