When pressing flowers, do the flowers come off the paper?

I was thinking about pressing flowers in a notebook of mine, and put a phonebook on top, but I was wondering, do the flowers leave an imprint on the paper? Do they stick to the paper? Or do they come off the paper all dry and then you glue them to whatever? HELP!
